Over the years I’ve shot in many indoor & outdoor locations all over London, UK and overseas. My favourite and most creative personal branding shoots always have one thing in common – a fantastic location house / space. In this post I’ll be sharing my 5 top reasons to hire a styled location house for your brand shoot. It really is the best decision you could make when it comes to getting the most bang for your personal branding shoot buck. Reason 1: You can choose a location that is on-brand & matches your aesthetic
The sky is the limit when it comes to locations for hire. Over the years I’ve shot in spacious West London homes, quirky city apartments, marble kitchens, well-lit functional fitness gyms and much more. The benefit of hiring a location, is that you can match it to your brand look & feel. From the colour palette, to interior design details to outdoor spaces – there is a home / location for you. Reason 2: Variety of backdrops in one location = multiple stories from one session!
One location house offers multiple backdrop opportunities without the need to travel! This makes the entire shoot much more efficient and enables me to get as much variety as possible in your photos. If you peruse the photos in this blog post, you’ll see the same clients photographed in a variety of settings – all within one beautiful location! Shooting in a styled location house also makes it easier to create various ‘scenes’ or stories, giving your audience a sense of who you are and what you enjoy doing. Whether it’s photos of you in action – working / creating or you relaxing and enjoying your favourite drink with your favourite book, during a 3 hour session we can create so much content!
Reason 3: More outfit changes
When we arrive at the location house, we arrange all your outfits, accessories & shoes in one of the bedrooms so we know which outfits we’re shooting, in which order. This saves so much time and makes it more convenient (and comfortable) for you to change outfits. Clients who hire a location house tend to have the opportunity to incorporate more outfits into their session, than clients who prefer shooting at cafe’s / outdoors only. Make up & hair touch ups are also much more convenient at a rented location versus out and about at a café.
Reason 4: A relaxed vibe & unlimited refreshments
Renting a location for your brand shoot, means that it feels like we’re shooting at your home! The pace of the session is much more relaxed and we can afford to take our time and be creative, without needing to think about the logistics of travelling to multiple locations. Most of the homes I’ve shot in have unlimited hot drinks available (great for props!) and we can snack while we shoot – key to keep the energy levels up! I also love playing music while we shoot to make sure the vibe is relaxed so all you have to do is focus on having a good time.
Reason 5: You get to inject more of you by using props & other styling elements
Without the worry about carrying your props around with you, you can bring as many options to the location house as you’d like. Using your props, outfits and the beautiful design details at your chosen location, telling your story and showing your personality becomes so much easier.
